What is a print-based studio?
Every portrait session culminates in ordering professionally-finished prints and products of your favorite poses to proudly display and enjoy in your home. There is not an option for a digital-only delivery. With that in mind, you DO receive complimentary branded social media files of every ordered pose, so you'll be welcome to post to your hearts content on social media, update profile pictures, and enjoy the ordered poses on your phones. We'll be here to take care of all your printing needs and give you access to the highest quality and best archival strength for all your finished pieces.
Will I be able to share my portraits on social media?
YES! Every ordered pose includes the complimentary, branded social media file. You'll first purchase professionally-printed, fully archival, tangible prints and/or albums of your favorite poses. The companion digital files of those ordered poses are delivered via email, ready to download and enjoy for all digital uses. These files are sized perfectly for web-based uses, including sharing on social media posts, updating profile pictures, and having on phones and devices. It's the best of both worlds!
I've never done true professional portraits before...what should I expect?
Expect to be expertly guided through every step and to relax into the hands of our expertise! The benefit of choosing a true, experienced professional is that you do not need to be your own expert - that's why you choose one! We will make sure to guide you with session selection, location selection, attire considerations, and what to expect for the ordering side of the experience. During your session, Jon will compose each set of portraits and take care of all the posing and lighting. He will ensure you look your very best, and he promises it'll be better than getting a root canal!
Do I need to make an appointment or can I just drop by?
Please always make an advance appointment. We are a husband and wife team and are often both in appointments with clients. We want to give each appointment our dedicated time and attention; therefore, we want to schedule every client visit to the studio. Simply call/text 719-291-9798.
How does it work from start to finish?
1. Phone Call & Complimentary Pre-Booking Appointment
2. Schedule the Portrait Session: We'll schedule for the best time of day for the location and the time of year you prefer. The Creation Fee for the session(s) are paid when booking and double as your reservation fee securing your spot on our calendar.
3. The View & Choose Ordering Appointment: We aim to have every family in within 1-2 weeks of the portrait session. This 60-90 minute appointment happens at the Studio. We'll present a slideshow of your finished images and then guide you with the selection of the favorite poses. From those favorites, we'll then guide you with creating your custom order of the perfect combination of the finished prints and products you want to love and enjoy in your home.
4. Order Fulfillment: Once you place your order, we'll be hard at work providing our master retouching services and creating all the finished pieces in your order. You can expect your finished pieces to be in within 2-4 weeks of ordering, assuming you've either paid in full or 50% at your appointment. We do offer longer payment plans, and when choosing this option, you'll receive finished pieces as each is paid in full along the way toward completion of your payment plan.
5. Order Pick Up: We'll reach out once your finished pieces have been checked by us to make sure each is perfect and coordinate a quick pick up time to receive your order. Allow enough time to look everything over at the Studio before taking everything home to enjoy.

Do you have a studio?
Yes we do! We are located near Woodmen and Academy and open Tuesdays thru Saturdays weekly. Everything is by-appointment-only, so reach out by phone/text to 719-291-9798 to schedule!
With our studio, we offer both indoor studio portraits as well as outdoor settings for your photography. We'll help determine the best setting for your session during the pre-booking consultation where we get to know you and provide our expert guidance in the planning for a great session.
How do I determine the best setting/location for my portraits?
We are here to offer our expert guidance to you along every step of the experience. We get to know each family during the complimentary pre-booking appointment. When it comes to the location for the portraits, we offer both indoor studio portraits and outdoor portraits at a wide variety of potential locations throughout the greater Colorado Springs area. We have a series of questions to ask and tons of samples of our work to view - your responses lead us to our best recommendations for the location of your portraits. We also offer both mini-sessions and one-hour sessions and will guide you to the session length that will best serve you and your family. Part of the session selection is to begin with the end in mind and ensure we are not over-creating nor under-creating for any family.
What is your weather policy for outdoor sessions?
Plan to meet no matter what...after all, it's Colorado where things change quickly and it's often different from one part of town to another! It's also important to keep in mind that none of us can control the weather (though in our business, that might be the superpower we would choose to have!). That being said, it's incredibly important to us that you have amazing portraits, so if the weather does interfere with your originally-booked session spot, we'll reschedule to a new day/time for you with no additional cost. We guarantee you'll have portraits you love, we just cannot guarantee they will be made at your originally-schedule day/time. Gotta keep a little bit of flexibility when booking an outdoor session.
How do I complete my high school senior's yearbook pose submission?
We will take care of it for you...consider it DONE. Your yearbook pose submission is included with your Creation Fee for the session.
At your ordering appointment, we'll guide you and your senior to select the favorite pose that will fulfill the school's requirements. We will ensure it's submitted with the required specs and let you know when it's been submitted. Make sure your student then confirms in person with the school that the submission went thru successfully.
When do I pay for the session and what does the fee include?
Your creation fee for the session(s) booked is due when you book your photography session and secures your session on our calendar. Your creation fee covers your portrait session with Jonathan and his time, talent, expertise, and travel for your session in Colorado Springs. The creation fee covers the development of the finalized set of poses presented to you at your View & Choose Ordering Appointment that is typically scheduled within two weeks of the completion of your photography.

Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! While your Creation Fee for the session is paid in full when you book, at your ordering appointment, you'll pay for your order with any of these options:
(1) Pay in full
(2) Pay 50% and the remaining 50% at order pick up 2-4 weeks later
(3) Create a payment plan of 3-6 payments. When choosing a payment plan, you'll receive ordered items along the way as each is paid in full.
Can my pet be included in the session?
Yes! We welcome family pets for sessions. Keep in mind this will add a different dynamic to the session and you'll need to remember to bring all the things your pet will need (i.e., leash, water). Jon is very good at working with the furry family members, and we know that they hold a special place in the hearts of their humans! We typically feature pets in just a portion of the images created during a session and not the entire set of portraits. We also have a studio with our indoor camera room that can simplify the environment for pets and set them up for success in this space. We'll guide you though all these considerations during your pre-session planning appointment.
