We established Jonathan Betz Photography in Colorado Springs in 2006. You'll find us centrally-located near Woodmen & Academy on Collins Road. The move to this location in 2019 brought a dedicated studio to our client experience and the addition of studio portraiture on-site. Clients describe our spaces as inviting and warm with a rustic elegance. Portrait photography is about celebrating relationships, and when you are at our studio, we want you to feel welcomed and important.
Your relationships, milestones, and memories are worth capturing. Photographs connect us with our loved ones, both those still here to hug and hold and those we miss dearly. We are honored to invest our days creating legacy for families and to know that what we do will outlive us. Our photography serves both the present and the future generations to come.
All scheduling is by-appointment-only as we reserve a dedicated spot for each appointment. Call us at 719-291-9798 to reserve a complimentary Studio Tour or schedule the next step in your portrait experience.
Serving clients for over 18 years with a smile.
For those who love history...
In the 1960s a group developers purchased the 200+ acres of land from the Thomas L. Parker (Mabelle D.) Ranch and created the Falcon Estates Community, initially designed for the Air Force Academy officers and their families. The first homes were built in the 1960s and these one-acre+ properties still retain the ability to have horses. In these early years, our section of Academy Boulevard was a two-lane dirt road and considered the outskirts of town. We've been told of only one convenience store being present and heard stories of the original owners riding horses to that store. Fast forward to 2005 and big changes came with the addition of all the shopping centers along Academy north of Woodmen Rd. A number of properties were purchased by the developer, and quite a few of the affected homes were actually moved and found new life on available lots deeper in Falcon Estates. Our studio building originally sat where Vitamin Shoppe currently sits and was saved from demolition and moved to Collins Rd in 2005. In the past, this building has been used as a wood-working shop, storage garage, and maintenance shed. Fast forward to 2019 and we bought the property and transformed it into the studio spaces we have today.
